Decoration Felt and Styrofoam lollipops

These lollipops are something I love! I did these last year and the year before with the fifth graders! They loved them and NOW I will show YOU have to make them!
So first to begin with you will need:
2 different colours of felt
Styrofoam shaped like a semi circle
Wooden lollipop sticks, peeled twigs or what I used, little craft sticks
PVA glue or glue gun
Scissors

First you are going to cut out a circle out of both the pieces of felt that fits the shape of the styrofoam.
Then you are going to take one piece of felt and make a kind of twirly shape as you can see above.

Now you need to get a scissors and make a little hollow for your wooden sticks.
Get some PVA or a glue gun and squirt some glue into the hollow and place the wooden stick on top.

When that dries glue the felt pieces on and wait to dry.

Other kids scarecrows

TOP: kyle and ashton
BOTTOM/ABOVE: mine

Kids lollipop stick scarecrow!

I made these with my second graders.
You will need:
7 pale wooden lollipop sticks LARGE
8 yellow lollipop sticks SMALL
Brown card
Yellow card
Orange card
Blue Card
Kids craft eyes

You need to glue together the seven large lollipop sticks and wait until they dry.

During the time you are waiting for these things to dry together you can be cutting a hat shape out of the brown card. A flower out of the orange and yellow card and a blue ribbon for the hat out of card.

Your lollipop sticks should be dry, so now you need to get 6 of the small lollipop sticks and glue them three on each side on the front of the large lollipop sticks like the picture above. And then glue the two remaining lollipop sticks on behind the large lollipop sticks.

While waiting for that to dry on cut out a nose out of the orange card and stick on the googly craft eyes and glue the hat on like the picture above.

Letting the kids do their own spin on this is crucial! but sometimes a theme is best!

The student I used for the pic above is Emily, a very talented girl who has an edge for art!

My Classroom Theme: September

Every month my classroom is themed. For september I decided to theme my class as the cinema.
Here is my word wall:

Then I went on to decorate the library as a directors office.
This october I am trying something new! Ideas would be great!

Splatter Paint Boxes

What you need:
2x toothbrushes
Small 4cmx4cm paper boxes (ideally white or black)
1 or 2 splats of paint on a pallet

How to:
First you need to take the lid off of the boxes because this is the part we are splatter painting.

Now you are going to dip 1 toothbrush in the paint and get the other tooth brush and leave it without any paint.

You are going to hold the tooth brush with the paint horizontally, and the other vertically.

Take the two paint brushes and brush them together, splatting the paint all of the lids.

NOTICE: 2 COLOURS IS MOST LIKELY ENOUGH.

Here is what mine looked like

About me and a great Hello!

Hello, my name is Dahlia, I am 23 since January and I studied Art and Design and some other things in college but Art and Design really stood out the most to me. I love to blog and I have decided I will share my experiences with you with a craft once or twice a week depending on my schedule. I hope you all enjoy! Love Dahl (Dahl is my nickname, like Roald Dahl, the childrens book author...)
